What is the cost of the workshop?

There is no cost for participants to attend the workshop. The Parent/Carer Workshops are funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) through the Australian Government's Helping Children with Autism package.
 

Can I bring my child to the workshop?

We do not provide facilities for children to attend the workshop.

If you are a breast feeding mother please contact aaetc@autismspectrum.org.au to ensure there are facilities for you at the venue. We also ask of you to keep noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing other participants of the workshop.
 

I haven’t received my confirmation email to attend the workshop.

Your confirmation email may have been misplaced into your spam folder. In case your confirmation email is not there, please send an email to aaetc@autismspectrum.org.au indicating which workshop you registered for and your first and last name.
 

My child has high functioning autism or Asperger’s, will the workshop be relevant?

Yes the workshop is suitable for all school aged children across the autism spectrum.
 

What age does my child have to be for me to attend the workshop?

The workshop is designed for school aged children from first year of school, kindergarten, up to year 12 or equivalent.
 

I am a grandparent of a child with autism can I attend the workshop?

Yes grandparents can attend the workshop as we recognise they often provide a strong support and understanding to the parents and their children. When you register just please put ‘grandparent’ in the comments box.
 

What are the start and finish times of the workshop?

Day 1
Registration from 8:15am
Start time: 9:00am
Finish time: 4:30pm

Day 2
Start time: 9:00am
Finish time: 4:00pm

I have to arrive late or leave the workshop early, is this possible?

To get the most from the workshop and so as not to disturb other participants we recommend attend for the duration of the designated times. We do understand that this is not always possible, if you cannot arrive on time please send an email to aaetc@autismspectrum.org.au so we can expect your late arrival. If you need to leave early please let the facilitators know on the day.
 

Will food be provided at the workshop?

Yes morning tea and lunch will be provided on both days of the workshop.
